Our friends JT Vuong & George Padilla, formerly of OKONOMI // YUJI Ramen, are launching a new concept called Yasumi Project and we have the distinct privilege hosting their first pop-up. Offering a set menu lunch inspired by casual wine bar dining, you can expect fresh fish caught off the Northeast coast, locally grown produce from New Jersey and Upstate NY and a leisurely afternoon of sake drinking. Brooklyn Kura sake pairings will be provided by our resident sake sommelier, Sam Barickman.
Our 9/16 and 9/23 menu included a corn sansho potage + sourdough batard, whipped ricotta w/ pickles + swordfish belly + fennel, kohlrabi paired with 2 Brooklyn Kura sakes.
We're excited for you to join us for a this special series of Sunday events in September.
Tickets are on-sale now for 9/30. A la carte menu to follow set lunch.
JT Vuong served as head chef of Okonomi where his disciplined study of Japanese culinary traditions was applied to showcase the seasonal flavors of our local bounty.
George Padilla was Chef JT’s Front of House counterpart at Okonomi. Inspired by the warm exemplary hospitality of Japanese ryokans and family-run restaurants and bars, he strives to foster community through food, drink, and shared time together.
